WebSphere® Business Integration Message Broker V5 and Event Broker V5 include the Message Brokers Toolkit, the new graphical application development tooling that replaces the WMQI V2.1 Control Center. Based on the Eclipse open framework adopted for all WebSphere AD tools, the Message Brokers Toolkit is a complete overhaul of the Control Center with loads of new features and improvements.

This tutorial session uses the Toolkit to create, manipulate, and deploy a postcard application, demonstrating as many of the new features as possible in the process.

This tutorial is intended for developers interested in WebSphere Business Integration Brokers toolkit.

  • Work with Message flows

  • Deploy message flow applications

  • Test and Debug message flow applications

  • Work with mappings

  • Use the Rapid Application Development tools to rapidly deploy, test and debug message flows

Prerequisites

You should have a basic knowledge of WebSphere Business Integration Brokers.


System requirements

You will need the following software:

  1. IBM DB2 Universal Database Enterprise Server Edition 8.1 Fix Pack 2.
  2. IBM WebSphere MQ Version 5.3 with CSD05
  3. Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) Version 2.7 SP1, Version 2.7SP1a, or Version 2.8.
  4. IBM Agent Controller Version 5.0.1 (also known as RAC)
  5. IBM WebSphere Business Integration Message Broker Version 5 CSD02
  6. Postcard tutorial application
