About this course

Upon completion of this course, you will have acquired a basic level of tool competence. You will also appreciate the value of modeling when working in a team on large system development projects. To help you estimate and plan your "learning" time as you take the course, each module has an estimated seat time.

In this course

This online course provides you with an understanding of IBM® Rational® Rose®, Rational's award-winning visual modeling tool. To help you estimate and plan your "learning" time as you take the course, each module has an estimated seat time. Within each module you will be able to evaluate your understanding of the content by completing a number of self-check activities and challenges. At the end of most modules, there is a series of labs. These labs measure your level of competence with Rational Rose via practical experience with the tool. Overall, the course provides valuable information and hands-on practice with the Rose tool for analysts, designers, and project managers who understand the value of modeling.

  • Module 1: Rose Modeling Basics -- 30 minutes

  • Module 2: Using Rose in a Team -- 20 minutes

  • Module 3: Create Use-Case Model -- 40 minutes

  • Module 4: Create Use-Case Realization Structure -- 40 minutes

  • Module 5: Create Interaction Diagrams -- 50 minutes

  • Module 6: Add Class Diagrams -- 50 minutes
