The RUP Plug-In for secure application development introduces new activities, artifacts and templates to RUP that give development organizations a structured, repeatable way to address security.

Note: This Plug-In uses RUP base v2003 and cannot be used with earlier versions of RUP.

Description: The RUP Plug-In for secure application development is the first adaptation of the industry-standard IBM Rational Unified Process to support security throughout the software development lifecycle. This Plug-In incorporates over twenty new activities from CLASP, the Comprehensive, Lightweight Application Security Process, developed by Secure Software, and incorporates new concept material, templates and tool mentors that will help organizations build software securely the first time, instead of patching when someone else discovers a vulnerability. CLASP activities span the following disciplines: requirements, analysis and design, implementation, test and deployment.

Purpose: The RUP Plug-In for secure application development introduces new activities, artifacts and templates to RUP that give development organizations a structured, repeatable way to address security.
