Beth Smith is the vice president, WebSphere Solutions and Tooling. Beth was previously Vice President Solutions Development. She was also Vice President, Business Innovation and Optimization (BIO), where she led IBM's business process performance management initiatives as part of IBM's broader on Demand strategy. Prior, she was director, IBM Healthcare and Life Sciences Solutions Development, where she was responsible for bringing new technology solutions to the pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare provider and payer markets. During her career, Beth has also held a variety of management and technical roles across IBM’s Software Group. Beth joined IBM in 1987 after graduating from North Carolina State University with a BS in Computer Science. In 2000, Beth received the Tribute to Women in Industry award from the YWCA of Santa Clara Valley.
