In this podcast

This podcast covers the following topics about the SOA programming model:

  • SOA is evolutionary, not revolutionary -- it's really about business activities being reusable.

  • An SOA environment is composed of three main elements: Service Component Architecture (SCA), the invocation framework; Service Data Objects (SDO), the data framework; and BPEL, the compositional model. This podcast focuses on SCA.

  • Developers can build SOA components for the SOA programming model with tools such as WebSphere Process Server and WebSphere Integration Developer.

  • SCA provides a framework for integrating existing systems and assets of an IT structure, with the goal of concentrating on business activities and flows.
