• The 2008-05-07 developerWorks update introduces the "Development stream", which describes Linux on System z contributions and functionality against recent upstream kernel (currently kernel 2.6.25) and other upstream Linux components. Please refer to the following "Development stream" pages for:
  • an overview of recommended functionality including exploitation of new System z hardware as well as other new functions in kernel 2.6.25 and s390-tools 1.6.3
  • new Documentation
  • Technical Details and Restrictions
• When new Linux on System z distribution releases are available we will publish comments on the "Distribution hints" page.
• New navigation: With the introduction of the "Development stream" we have a new navigation for the Linux on System z developerWorks-pages that no longer shows the old streams. You may want to use the Archive page to view the old streams (with the old navigation).
• The previous streams will no longer be updated:
  • The "April 2004 stream" is closed with recommended kernel 2.6.5 patch 48
  • The "October 2005 stream" is closed with recommended kernel 2.6.16 patch 22

• "October 2005 stream" recommended kernel 2.6.16 patch 21 with bug fixes
